Discover Amherst Street XX

On Saturday, June 17, Grant-Amherst Business Association will be hosting the annual Discover Amherst Street festival (11am – 5pm). This year’s festival is anticipated to be one of the best yet, with a number of new businesses participating on the street. The family friendly event is a tribute to the history of Black Rock. It’s also a time to celebrate all of the great advancements that are being made.

Discover Amherst Street has become a staple event in Black Rock. For visitors, it’s a time to get familiar with all of the businesses on the street. The event features plenty of live music, artists and artisans, and even a parade (at noon). 2017 marks that 20th year that this festival has been produced, which in of itself is an encouraging milestone.

Events and activities include:

  • Best Pie in Black Rock Contest
  • Historic Black Rock Photo Project & Display
  • Live music
  • Parade at Noon
  • Raffles
  • T-shirt sales (design featured in lead image)
  • Games for kids
  • Beer and food

If you’ve been hoping to learn more about this historic area, there is no better way to do it than attend this festive celebration. Bring your friends and family along, to enjoy all that Black Rock has to offer.
