In Buffalo, Labatt USA has set a precedent for investing in parks, to help revitalize them through a strategic Parks and Rec program. The program is essentially twofold. Not only will Labatt sponsor over 30 adult rec teams in 2024, it will also invest over $50,000 into the parks, via microgrants, where the teams play. Now, that’s a pretty good deal if you ask me.
“We want to get our fans excited about knocking it out of the park with their teams this season,” said Inga Grote-Ebbs, brand director for Labatt USA. “We want to sponsor their teams AND clean up their parks!”
At this stage of the game, Labatt is encouraging teams to apply for a sponsorship, now through April 28 at parksandrec.labattusa.com. Teams that are selected for sponsorship will receive $500 towards fees, league dues, and other team needs. Labatt will also furnish limited edition Labatt Parks and Rec branded merchandise. This is certainly a win-win for the rec teams, and the parkes where they play.
Aside from the investment into the teams and the parks, Labatt will host volunteer events to keep parks clean, updated, and in decent repair.
Once the teams are in place, the Parks and Rec website will showcase the teams, volunteer work, and community investment in Buffalo.
“We know the awesome impact that’s made on our communities when we take care of our people and our environment,” said Jason Folaron, brand manager for Labatt USA – a company that embraces a triple bottom line approach to business. “We’re honored to have the opportunity to make an impact again this year.”
