Essex Arts Center has been a fixture on the West Side of Buffalo since the 1960’s. It had a long tradition of housing artist studio and living space. Many of Buffalo’s arts organizations got their start out of the Essex Arts Center, including Hallwalls Contemporary Arts Center. The arts center is also home to two creative businesses that have office space in the complex.

Described as bold, unorthodox, vibrant and evocative, the “Glengarry Bhoys” hybrid of Canadian, Highland Scots and French Canadian musical idioms has evolved into a sound that is weighty, authoritative and extremely entertaining. Their energy and good humor, are as much a part of the show as their musicianship, crosses all cultures and ages. The Glengarry Bhoys are beloved in Buffalo and always creating memorable shows here in the Queen City.
