On Saturday , April 5, 2014, join the Buffalo Zoo’s Earth Smart Squad, as they host an electronics recycling collection event aimed at relieving you of your unwanted gadgets, while relieving the earth of unwanted landfill. I’ve been piling a bunch of electronic items up at my house in anticipation of this event – items such as ancient computer monitors, an old answering machine and a busted radio.
Of course it’s tempting to bury these items in the trash, but that’s not the right thing to do. Instead I’m going to take a small window of time and rid my life of these unwanted ancient technological devices.
Thanks to the Earth Smart Squad and Sunnking Inc, we all have the ability to deliver our old electro-junk into the hands of responsible people who will then mine the valuable contents and discard the rest in an environmentally sound way.
The collection will take place on Saturday, April 5 from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the Zoo’s main parking lot off of Parkside Ave.
Items that will NOT be accepted include batteries, and large appliances.
A list of acceptable items can be found online at www.SunnKing.com.
Anyone who brings their unwanted electronics to the Zoo on April 5 will receive a coupon for $1 off Zoo admission.
