On Saturday, May 11 (10am-3pm), Daemen University Veterans Services will be hosting its inaugural Vets Expo, featuring numerous organizations that are in place to support WNY veterans. The organizations participating in this unique undertaking include Veteran One Stop, Western NY Heroes, The Vet Center, The Red Cross, and The VA.
The goal of this newfound Expo is to create a cost-free, inclusive environment for guests and participants, facilitating a platform for support, awareness, and community engagement.
One of the organizers of the Expo, Tony DeRomanis – U.S. Air Force Veteran Community Liaison at Daemen University – hopes to enhance the support network for student veterans and the broader veteran community.
“My journey to this role has been deeply personal and professional, having served as a house and case manager for homeless veterans in the Rochester area and navigating my own transition from active duty to civilian life,” said DeRomanis. “At Daemen, we’re dedicated to expanding our Veteran Services, aiming to provide unparalleled support and forge strong community connections. This expo holds the potential to be a transformative event, not just for Daemen, but for the entire community, marking a day of unity, support, and recognition for those who’ve served.”
Daemen University Veterans Services is currently searching for additional vendors that provide services to veterans, to register their organization for participation.
