A brand new chocolate business is setting up shop on Elmwood Avenue. While the name might be a bit different, chocolate lovers can still expect to find some of their favorite varieties, along with a mixed bag of original treats.
Co-owner Lacy Christ tells me that she and her husband are embarking upon this new venture, which is expected to open up in late October or early November. “We’re very excited to get started!” said Lacy. “[We’re] mostly committed to helping people enjoy great chocolate! We will also offer other handmade goodness, like vegan ice cream, maple syrup sponge candy, and cacao tea. We are using all organic ingredients, fair-trade cacao, and utilizing local businesses for ingredients as much as possible. Something that sets us apart is that we’re making our chocolate directly from the cacao bean. Our products will be dairy free, soy-free, and non-gmo. We’ll be offering wine pairings, tastings and event hosting on our terrace in warmer months.”
Along with their commitment to the sustainability in their products, packaging and process, the business owners also say that they are committed to Buffalo and to Elmwood Avenue. That’s good news all around. There are still a lot of business out there that are not overly concerned about how products are packaged, or where they are sourced from. To know that Thinking Elvish Fantasy Chocolate cares about these issues out of the gate, says a lot about their ethics, which will most likely translate into a delectable product offering.
It’s already fitting that there is a Reddy bike share hub located right out front of the shop. Apparently, the stars were aligned for this location.
