Winter Festival and Recreational Sports Updates

In 2015,  the winter festival season is taking a few twists and turns. It looks as if Powder Keg is not making an appearance again. And it also appears as if Flurrious! is down for the count for the most part, even though Game On! Sports is making an effort to keep the festival’s kickball tournament going, as you will see below. In lieu of the festivals, there are a number of recreational sports activities that have sprung up in numerous places such as Canalside and RiverWorks.

It turns out that Game On! Sports is also organizing the recreational pond hockey and curling competitions at The Ice @ Canalside, which means that there are even more opportunities to get outdoors in a sporting nature this winter (see all the details below).

If you were sad to see Powder Keg and Flurrious! bow out this year, then you’re still in luck. Buffalo Rising and Madd Tiki Tattoo are planning on hosting a Madd Tiki Winter Luau at RiverWorks on February 28, 2015, so mark your calendars and get ready to party “beach style” – more info coming in following days.

In the meantime, get outdoors and get busy with Game On! Sports, as they hit the ice at Canalside and the fields at Delaware Park, keeping the wintery sport traditions alive and well in Buffalo.
