Be sure to grab a seat in the front row this Friday as the Burchfield-Penney Art Center gets ready to flip a switch that will forever change the way we look at the institution’s “Front Yard”. (See background)
To honor this special event, the art center is planning a Street Party, and is inviting the public to come hang out for a spell. While waiting for the audio and multi-projection show to go on at sunset (approximately 6:28 pm), visitors will be treated to the sounds of live music, a performance by DME led by Tomás Henriques, and an array of food items from a few of Buffalo’s food trucks, including The Black Market Food Truck, The Roaming Buffalo, Lloyd Taco Truck, Amy’s Food Truck, Rolling Joes Café and Franks Hot Dogs.
The three tower audio and projection event will premiere works from artists such as Brian Milbrand’s Afterglow Arrangements (2013), Steina, Hollis Frampton, Paul Sharits, Meg Knowles and Chris Gallant, Barbara Lattanzi… and fortunately for Buffalo the show never ends! Other artists that will be featured in days to to come (their works will play as the sun rises) include John F. Bono, Dorothea Braemer,Andrew Deutsch, Courtney Grim, Carl Lee, Cort Lippe, Vince Mistretta, Jan Nagle, Rebekkah Palov, John Toth, David Tudor, Anna Scime and J.T. Rinker.
