The Bills Mafia boat parade, held from noon to 7pm today, is a raging success. Bills fans have taken over what appeared to be a large part of the waterfront. Countless boaters can be seen waving Bills flags, while dressed in Buffalo Bills regalia.
While many of the revelers were docked at Canalside, grilling and partying in true red, white, and blue fashion, others were buzzing up and down the Buffalo River, as well as along the Outer Harbor. It was great to see so much activity on the waterfront – everyone was in festive spirits, especially considering that it was quite possibly the best weather we have seen all summer.

It’s these types of high-flying, spirited events that showcase the best of Buffalo. It’s hard to imagine that this is only the second year that this undertaking has occurred. I have a feeling that in years to come, this will be the one of the most anticipated Bills events under the sun. Actually, the way that it is growing, it could turn out to be one of the most celebrated events in the city, period. It’s definitely a fun way to spend part of Labor Day weekend.
Founder of the event, Ashleigh Dopp, contributed the event’s success to the community coming together, with backing from sponsors Labatt Blue, Buffalo Cycle Boats, Envision Real Estate, and New Wave Energy.
