I recently had the opportunity to enjoy lunch at the new Vasilis location in Kenmore, Vasilis Eggsperience. The restaurant serves a combination of Greek and classic American diner fare. On this particular occasion, I ordered the spanakopita with salad (my go-to Greek dish), and my dining companion ordered a BLT with fries. The food was fresh, delicious, and abundant.
After my meal, I could not pass up the opportunity to enjoy a rice pudding, and this one was particularly good.
The restaurant is currently open for breakfast and lunch. But, in addition to this, they offer a fish fry dinner on Friday nights. Customers are encouraged to bring their own wine!
This is a nice gesture that would make a Friday night experience at Vasilis fun and festive without breaking the bank.
A great deal of care and attention has been put into the interior of the restaurant. The space is somehow large enough to provide you with a sense of privacy but warm enough to make you feel welcome and at home. It is the perfect place to enjoy a long breakfast on a slow Sunday morning (if, indeed, such days still exist). My next trip to Vasilis will most certainly be for breakfast, so that I can enjoy the true Vasilis ‘Eggsperience’.
Over the years, numerous restaurants have come and gone in this location. I hope that the new Vasilis finds much success and becomes a fixture of the small but blossoming restaurant scene in Kenmore.
