Grant Street: Walk the Walk

I’m sure that we all have our wish list for the Grant/Ferry neighborhood. Over the past five years we have seen some ups and downs – some shining lights and some missed opportunities. On May 7, experts from Partners for a Livable Western New York will be walking these neighborhoods with members of the community in order to identify planning and land use issues – the good, the bad and the ugly.

Sponsored by the West Side Business and Taxpayers Association, the walk is part group discussion, part ‘walk and identify’, and part report findings. For 90 minutes the group will attempt to pinpoint exactly what it would take to unify these blocks using proven methods of successful land use policy. Hopefully the people who pull the strings downtown will listen to members of the group, as many of these known problematic issues remain unresolved despite repeated outcries.
