Rocky Horror Time Warps Into The Market Arcade

After searching for characters, the Arts Council in Buffalo and Erie County is ready to host the event as part of the Buffalo Homecoming Weekend Celebration. Featuring three separate showings of the cult classic the The Rocky Horror Picture Show, the council will kick off their celebration with the VIP Time Warp Dance Party on Friday, June 27.
The VIP Time Warp Dance Party takes place at the Arts Council Passage Way Gallery on the third floor of the Market Arcade Building at 9 PM. Local members of the dance and theatre community will be there to teach guests the “Time Warp Dance” while dressed as characters from the movie. There will even be costume accessories available for guests to wear as they have fun learning.
After the party, the movie begins at Midnight. There will be a Rocky Horror Accessories Pack, which will contain rice, toast, paper towel, newspaper, a rubber glove, a party whistle, a playing card, and a glow stick, to help make the movie a true theatrical event. Tickets for this event are $20, with proceeds benefiting the Technical Assistance Programs of the Arts Council.
The fun doesn’t stop there though. The following morning, June 28 at 10 AM, there will be a pre-film discussion with Bruce Jackson and Dianne Christian on the history of the The Rocky Horror Picture Show and its development into cult status. Tickets to this showing are $10 in advance and $12 day of.
Your last chance to see the movie is that evening at Midnight, dubbed The Time Warp Dance Event. Before the movie begins, instructors dressed as characters from the show will teach the audience the dance. Moviegoers will get to be the chorus of Transylvanians with Rocky, Dr. Frank-N-Furter, Brad, Janet, Magenta, and other characters from the movie performing live character animation. The Rocky Horror Accessories Pack will be available for purchase for $1.25 and tickets are the same price as the 10 AM showing.
