5.4.17 ~ In honor of Mental Health Awareness Month, Erin M Moss, of Erin M. Moss Mental Health Private Practice will speaking to the audience members following two special screenings of the “Daddy’s Girl Club” TV Series Pilot Episode about the importance of seeking counsel and help for various issues that affect mental health. The TV Series follows the lives of four women whose issues stemming from their relationship with their fathers still affect them in adulthood.

Alemaedae Theater Productions in Collaboration w/ McKinley High School is hosting the screenings on Thursday, May 25th, at McKinley High School 1500 Elmwood Ave.
The first screening will take place at 1PM and will be privately held for McKinley High School Senior Students. Immediately after the screening, there will be an open discussion that will focus on the issues the film deals with, including domestic violence, depression, abandonment, substance abuse, among others.
The second screening, for which the public will be able to purchase tickets, will take place at 7PM. Tickets for the 7PM showing are $5 and will be available pre-sale at McKinley High School. Admission at the door will be $10 while supplies last. Part of the proceeds will be donated to Crisis Services.

Erie County, N.Y. – The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County (CCE Erie) Master Gardener Program will hold their Annual Plant Sale, Friday, May 26th from 8:30am to 3:00pm, and Saturday, May 27th from 8:30am to 2:00pm at the First Presbyterian Church of Buffalo, One Symphony Circle, Buffalo, New York 14201.

The Cornell Cooperative Extension of Erie County (CCE Erie) Master Gardener Program Annual Plant Sale is a wonderful opportunity to obtain great plants at great prices! The sale includes a choice selection of sun and shade perennials, natives, herbs, annuals, shrubs and vegetables direct from the gardens of CCE Erie Master Gardener volunteers, as well as plants donated from area horticultural businesses. CCE Erie Master Gardener volunteers will be available throughout the sale to provide advice on selecting and growing plants. Master Gardeners will also offer a Soil Clinic to measure pH level for those who bring in soil samples. The cost per sample is $2.00. Prior to attending, check the CCE Erie website (below) for instructions on collecting a soil sample. Funds raised at this annual event help to support the CCE Erie Master Gardener outreach programs in our local communities.

A one-act festival in tribute to local community leader, activist and writer Rafael Perez, celebrating Latino stories. The show will feature a bilingual series of 10 one-act plays which offer stories that are culturally specific and relevant to the Latinx culture. These one-acts encompass the Latinx experience in this country including issues of struggling with Latinx identity, the importance of traditions, finding empowerment by overcoming struggle and religious influences on family dynamics. Desde el Puente will feature works that are dramatic, comic and seriocomic with language ranging from mostly English with light Spanglish up to full Spanish dialogue. Performances are at 8 PM on Fridays and Saturdays, 6 PM on Sundays and 7:30 PM on Pay-What-You-Can Thursdays.
