The Erie County Industrial Development Agency Policy Committee has accepted a request from Uniland Development Company and Delaware North Companies to table applications for a project at 250 Delaware Avenue. Uniland and Delaware North have been under fire for seeking aid to construct a mixed-use complex that would become Delaware North’s new headquarters.
Delaware North is expected to lease 110,000 sq.ft. of office space in the project that would also have additional office space for lease, retail space, a 119-room hotel, and parking for 515 cars.
Uniland is seeking a Payment if Lieu of Real Estate Tax (PILOT), PILOT Increment Financing (PIF) to assist with the construction of the parking ramp, a sales tax abatement for the building (except the hotel space), and sales tax abatement for furniture, fixtures and equipment to be purchased by Delaware North.
Delaware North’s headquarters is currently located in the south tower of Key Center. Sixty-five new jobs are expected to be created over two years with the potential for many more if Delaware North exercises its options to expand into the remaining 84,000 sq.ft. of office space at 250 Delaware.
The Committee will still hold its monthly meeting Monday morning to review a project incentive request from API Heat Transfer Inc. and make action recommendations to the ECIDA’s full board for its November 18, 2013 meeting.
