Ulrich’s, Buffalo’s oldest continuous operational tavern, is hosting its Fifth Annual Buffalo Bills Dinner Thursday, January 19th at 6:30pm. Not only does Ulrich’s celebrate Buffalo’s rich history, the tavern also pays annual homage to sports-greats from the cityis talented teams of the past. This year, guest speakers from the Bill’s Championship team of ’64 and ’65 will be on hand to share inside team stories while enjoying traditional Ulrich’s fare with fans. Past speakers at the dinner include Ernie Warlick, Eddie Abramowski (trainer), Larry Fessler, and Booker Larry Edgerson.
The evening’s dinner is $35 (all inclusive), which gets you a steak dinner, dessert, and a beer tasting. For those of you that have never been to Ulrich’s, this tavern is an experience in itself. Homemade potato-chips can usually be found at the bar along with the tavern’s own Hoops Dark Lager, a beer specially brewed for the establishment by Buffalois own Flying Bison. The tavern is also known for its brilliant potato pancakes, wiener schnitzel, and Friday fish fry. It’s also a great place to check out on Fridays as the live music kicks off with a wide range of traditional songs.
