This weekend the Creating Keepsakes Scrapbook Convention returns to the Buffalo Niagara Convention Center. With over 25 vendors, classes, contests and a celebrity scrapbook trainer/author on hand, its no surprise attendance is expected to surpass 4,500. That’s 4,500 people that will be visiting downtown, many of whom will be in search of restaurants… others who may not be aware of the city’s incredible architecture.
Halfway through its cross-country tour, the CKC has hours worth of classes and days worth of inspiration. The fun begins Thursday, May 31 with cropping events and classes. Friday is the official start of the convention and brings with it the Vendor Faire. Check out the latest scrapping products by national and local retailers. Saturday continues with the Vendor Faire, classes and contests, and each evening holds fun events complete with prizes and giveaways.
The founding editor of Simple Scrapbooks Magazine, Stacy Julian, will be on hand for book signings, photo opportunities and will also be teaching. For a comprehensive schedule, check the Creating Keepsakes website.
Although online registration has concluded you can still buy your tickets on site for the Vendor Faire ($10). Discount coupons can be picked up at these local retailers: The Paper Garden (Spencerport, NY), The Scrapbook Spa (Williamsville, NY) and Stamps and Stuff (Amherst, NY). Most classes require you bring your own basic tools; tickets are based on availability. Scrappers of all skill levels will find this convention exciting, educational and extensive! A special thanks to Merrilynne Harrington from Creating Keepsakes.
