Bistro Bookers presents Stephen Bell reviewing Diana Dilloway’s>”Power Failure: Politics, Patronage, & the Economic Future of Buffalo, NY.” I haven’t read the piece yet, but the amazon.com reviews are quite good for a work that will undoubtedly be a little too close for comfort for many Buffalonians.
Stephen Bell, a former Buffalo News Editor and well respected local journalist, now working for Eric Mower and Associates, will be hosting. Mr. Bell currently counsels clients on short- and long-term strategic communications planning, crisis communications, policy matters, and public and media relations.
“Steve possesses a rare combination – a deep understanding of what’s important to people and the capacity to communicate with decision makers and the general public,” said Eric Mower, chairman and chief executive officer, EMA. “His particular expertise in Western New York and upstate will help our New York clients and his savvy regarding the news media, business and government will benefit clients across the firm.”
Mr. Bell has spent two decades as an editor at The Buffalo News, upstate New York’s largest newspaper, serving as City Editor, Assistant Managing Editor/Business, Managing Editor and, since July 2005, Editor of the News’ editorial page. Prior to joining the News in 1987, Mr. Bell spent five years with The Associated Press, where he was state editor in Albany and bureau chief in Buffalo. He began journalism career at the Stamford (CT) Advocate.
This should prove to be a very informative session.
