Have you ever wondered what a building would say if it could talk? Would it complain about smog blocking its view on those hazy afternoons? Would it complain about being built in a place it really didn’t have a say in? If you honestly have thought this stuff out I commend you, but if you haven’t, that’s okay because we can tell their stories for them.
6 Minute Building Stories is an informal gathering featuring presentations by esteemed speakers from across the board of cultural disciplines. The event will be held this coming Thursday, September 19th at One HSBC Center on the 37th floor.
Doors open at 5:30 p.m. and presentations will begin at 6 p.m. sharp. Admission is free to the public and, don’t worry, there will be a cash bar. Parking is available on the street, in the underground garage beneath the Center, in parking lots on Seneca Street and Swan Street, and also in the parking ramp across Washington Street.
Building Stories is a multi-media personal history project documenting and sharing profound individual experiences with architecture, construction, landscape and planning throughout Western New York.

Through a partnership with the University of Buffalo Libraries and the Buffalo Architecture Foundation (BAF), Building Stories are easily accessible online at UBdigit, which houses collections of multi-media ranging from video to still photography to print material and more (see link).
BAF’s mission is to more or less inspire the exploration and appreciation of architecture and how it influences our daily lives. Support the mission. Support Western New York architecture.
