Throughout it’s 21-year history, the Center for Entrepreneurial Leadership (CEL) Core program at the University at Buffalo School of Management has never seen as large a graduating class as this year. A symbol of Buffalo’s ethnic heritage, Saint Adalbert Basilica has remained a religious center since its construction in the 1880’s. And now it’s time to celebrate it – on June 13th, Saint Adalbert Basilica, along with Broadway Fillmore Alive, will be hosting a special tour of America’s First Basilica.Originally planned to conduct its last service in November of 2007, Saint Adalbert has stayed an active church as parishioners filed an appeal to the Vatican to reverse the ordered closure. The upcoming tour is meant to draw attention to the Basilica and parish’s ongoing efforts to save it. Just like domestic animals; the furry, feathered and scaled residents at the Buffalo Zoo require and receive the same quality of care on a regular schedule, and now, thanks to the zoo’s recent Show Us Your Stripes campaign,  the zoo’s in-house veterinary hospital is better equipped to deal with resident animal health. Eureka! Age-long neurological disorders have finally met their match. University at Buffalo researchers, led by Michal Stachowiak, Ph.D., director of the Molecular and Structural Neurobiology and Gene Therapy, have identified a new mechanism that plays a central role in adult brain stem cell development and prompts brain stem cells to differentiate into neurons.
