Leave it to Lacy at Diggin’ It! to uncover a bottled spray scent called ‘DIRT’. She emailed me the other day about her exciting find which she is now carrying at her shop. “You cannot believe how much this stuff smells JUST LIKE a greenhouse.”, she added. “They captured the scent of being in a greenhouse and bottled it. Stop by and check this out sometime… you have to spray it to believe it!” If you think that is interesting, then you might find the bath and body soap version of DIRT even more unusual. On to Buffalo, a place that I have never actually been to, but a city with immeasurable local pride. Iim in search of why Buffalonians are as overtly proud of their hometown as locals from New Orleans and San Francisco. And what better way to find out than sailing across Lake Erie with a local. Beholding the Buffalo skyline from a sailboat on Lake Erie, I am assured, iBuffalonians will show out-of-towners a better time than anyone n in any corner of culture,i according to Bill Zimmerman, Chairman of the Buffalo Waterfront Alliance.Oe That’s a snippet from Bruce Northam’s (photo…

I never thought that I would ever crave Chinese food. If it were not for Ming Cafe in the University District I don’t know if I ever actually ever would. Orange peel chicken with chili peppers and honey. 3. Stir-fry Shanghai thick noodles with pork. I don’t even know which of the dishes was the best… all I can say is, “If you have not experienced the Chinese…

What will it take to see a hotel built at the corner of Forest and Elmwood? Will the hotel be built at all? Or will we one day see those corner houses naturally fall to the ground? And if that happened what would the neighborhood see instead of the Elmwood Hotel? These are the questions that we are trying to field on a daily basis. People wanting to know if this project is dead in the water, and if not, what is the holdup? Is this going to be another Buffalo Zoo debacle? Another black eye for Buffalo? Let’s hope…

Wow, I had not been to Chef’s for quite a while before today. RoBear and I were over in the area and decided to stop in for a dish of their amazing spaghetti and meatballs. Chef’s Restaurant has been serving up lunches and dinners over on Seneca Street since 1923, and in that time it has grown from a small single-room eatery to an expansive multi-room dining establishment. What’s amazing about Chef’s is the restaurant’s ongoing ability to serve up quality cuisine that is always consistent. Today, Chef’s dining capacity is 325 people, and the average number of meals served…
