Saturday night, March 8th, the Nickel City will be administered a heavy dose of soulful garage punk rock insanity, courtesy of Atlanta’s infamous Black Lips. The group made a name for themselves with their freakout performances—one should expect vomiting, fireworks and/or live chickens, and just about anything inbetween. Musically, Black Lips are a bizarre cross-breeding of garage punk, doo wop, soul, blues, and country. They’re the exact opposite of a retro-60’s-throwback garage band.
