Thanksgiving in Buffalo just wouldn’t be the same without including our food trucks in the holiday. After all, the food trucks have become a part of the every day culinary scene in Buffalo. And no district has embraced the food trucks quite the way that Larkinville has. That’s why Larkin Square is planning the first ever “Stuff the Truck” event, where people will come to enjoy some Thanksgiving food, while helping out a good cause at the same time.
“Thanksgiving Eve is such a big fun night in Buffalo, and we’re excited to join the tradition with Food Truck Turkey – including the fixin’s of Gravy and stuffing,” said Larkin Square Director of Fun Leslie Zemsky. “In this case, we’ll have a wild variety of food, the Gravy is live music and the stuffing is for Salvation Army, an opportunity to help those in need through an organization synonymous with this season of giving.”
There’s no guarantee that any or all of the food trucks will be offering up an traditional Thanksgiving fare, but then again you never know (there could be some seasonal surprises). One thing is for sure – Buffalo’s newest food truck called The Flaming Fish (see Facebook) will be present, along with upwards of 30 other trucks from Rochester and Buffalo. If we’re lucky, there might also be a showing of Philly Flattop (see Facebook), the first Philly cheese steak to hit the road in this city.
“Many out of towners have not yet had the opportunity to experience a Food Truck Tuesday,” said Larkin Square’s Director of Fun, Leslie Zemsky. “We have all the ingredients for a Thanksgiving celebration: food trucks offerings (hoping for some Turkey), live music from a band called “Gravy” because they cover everything (songs), and Stuffing – from a plan to “Stuff the Truck”. In the spirit of Thanks and Giving, a Salvation Army truck will be parked with the food trucks receiving donations of food and clothing. The new Hydraulic Hearth will also be open that night!”
