Merl Rabb’s day starts early in the morning when he goes to his commercial kitchen in Kenmore and starts preparing all the components that make up his delicious roast beef sandwiches. At first glance you could simply overlook Riley’s Roast Beef cart as another one of the hot dog carts on the corner of Court and Main. But once people figure it out they keep coming back for more.
Rabb takes care of every detail to ensure the customers experience is a positive one. From the au jus to the rolls, everything is carefully chosen to create a great sandwich. He pre-portions the hand-cut Red Osier roast beef to ensure quick service. He also has all of the condiments readily available, including Broadway Market’s famous horseradish.
Riley’s also offers a roasted turkey sandwich and a ham and swiss sandwich as an alternative if roast beef is not your thing. All sandwiches are made to order with the freshest ingredients and served on a DiCamillio roll. And I have to say, though not a native Buffalonian or an experienced connoisseur of Beef-on-Weck sandwiches, in my opinion, they’re pretty tasty. People seem to agree, since its opening, Riley’s has stayed busy. They are open Monday through Friday from 10am – 2:30pm.
Riley’s Roast Beef offers the business district a fresh new alternative for lunch, clean, delicious, locally owned and moderately priced.
