In order to get more people to read, a group of reading enthusiasts have come up with a brilliant idea to host a series of Reading Invasions. Essentially, the pro-reading effort is devised to gather people together to a common ground, with books in hand, so that they can outwardly show their enthusiasm for the activity that they love so dearly.
In an age of computers, TV and video games, the activity of reading tends to get pushed aside by many people. But there are some who feel that the art of reading can thrive once again as long as there are enough people who are passionate about books. By simply bringing a book along to a Reading Invasion, you are helping to spread this amazing buzz!
New this year, Reading Invasion is teaming up Grassroots Gardens to host a couple of read-ins at various gardens throughout the city. Whether you end up reading in a charming urban garden, or Bidwell Parkway (the site for the yearly kick-off), each month readers of all ages and abilities will get a chance to join together to outwardly show their devotion to the simple, enjoyable, activity of flipping through the pages of a book.
