Tomorrow marks the grand opening of an impressive floral boutique on Main Street. The business is located in the equally impressive Granite Works building, and adds to the dynamics already established by neighboring commercial entity, Just Vino. Bloom Floristry Creative Director Orlando Diaz is energized with the notion of bringing a full service special event floral boutique and urban living center to the Medical District. He’s been busy arranging the cut flowers and bouquets, along with the vast home accessories, in preparation for Thursday’s visitors.
Along with the colorful arrangements and vases, Orlando is also showcasing a line of Votivo candles (Oprah’s Top Favorite), cocktail napkins, teapots (some contemporary and some antiquated), candle holders, and various other sundries that abound in the 1275 sq.’ space. When the curtains come away from the windows in the morning, the eastern exposure will brighten up the shop and shine a light on exposed brick walls, wood-style flooring and the merchandise grouped by colors and uses. In coming months, Orlando plans on offering Girls’ Night Out parties, floral demonstrations, and I would be surprised if customers of the Granite Works building don’t see some synergy in the works between Bloom Floristry and Just Vino.
Bloom Floristry is located just around the corner from Allentown and is just up the way from the revitalized stretch of the 700-block.
