Take a stroll down Elmwood Avenue during the summer and the water bowls outside storefronts will remind you how much the people of Buffalo love their pets. And now, the many pet owners have one more option for grooming since Bark Avenue Pet Salon opened its doors at 561 Forest Avenue last Wednesday, March 4.
Opened by co-owners Michaela Snyder and Sandy Voytovich, the pet salon provides dog and cat grooming services and uses only natural, 100% biodegradable and cruelty free shampoos. The salon has an open grooming environment with no hidden areas and gives pet owners the ability to confidently know their pets as taken care of. They even offer reminders by phone, text or e-mail for when your pet is due to be groomed again.
“What makes us different is that we groom only and are not a daycare, which might be a more relaxed atmosphere for some pets, most dogs get done in 2 -3 hours,” said Snyder.
Dogs are groomed by AKC breed standards and prices vary by breed, coat type and condition – an estimate can be provided over the phone or in person Tuesdays – Saturdays from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Services for cats range from the basic, full and deluxe spa packages.
Walk In-Services include nail trimming, buffing, teeth cleaning, anal glands and their special paw-dicure package. The paw-dicure package comes with nail and paw hair trimming with optional nail polish.
