Our Lady of Perpetual Help church in the old First Ward is the beneficiary of the second organized Buffalo Mass Mob. You may recall that back in October of 2013, the inaugural Buffalo Mass Mob was created in hopes that people would attend a mass at Saint Adalbert Basilica in the heart of East Buffalo’s Polonia district.
Not only do the mass mobs (fashioned after the cash mobs) attempt to drum up renewed interest in the attendance of Sunday mass, there is also the benefit of raising some needed funds for the respective church on the day of the event.
We are always trying to come up with ways to support the at-risk churches in Buffalo. The mass mob idea is an excellent way to shine a light on some of the architectural beauties that we have throughout our neighborhoods. Maybe you’ve been looking for a new church service to attend on Sundays? Maybe you’re interested in Buffalo’s formidable architecture, and you’ve been looking for a good excuse to get inside some of the churches? Or maybe you’re a person that just needs to be invited to attend an event in order to get motivated to do something with others. Whatever the case, this is a great reason to rally some friends and family to support a good cause in the new year.
