You can pretty much rest assured that if there is a show at Hi-Temp, it’s going to be a good one. On Friday November 8th, from 7pm – Midnight, 13 artists, musicians, and performers will be taking the Hi-Temp building by storm. Located in the Cobblestone District, chances are that you have passed this building by on your way to a hockey game or concert at the First Niagara Center.
Unbeknown to most, inside the industrial walls (still in operation), the fourth floor has been dedicated to the arts and artists of Buffalo.
Building and business owner John McKendry has a bent for the arts, and has thus ensured that his building plays a role in the rebirth of Buffalo and its ever growing art scene (see more here).
Thanks to the dedication of John (you might say that art runs through his veins), the Hi-Temp art exhibition space and studios will be open to the public for a show that will encompass the works of a number of this region’s artists – to the tune of over 70 works. Accomplished and emerging artists will be showing side by side in a raw gallery space that is the perfect setting for much of the mixed media, figure drawing, oil, photography, collage, installation and sculpture on hand. Other interesting tidbits that will help to attract the art lover in all of us are the fringe live performances (one room devoted to a large installation space), live music and DJs, hors Dʼoeuvres and wine tasting.
