Do you ever watch the news on TV and think, “When it comes to natural disasters Buffalo is a pretty safe place to be.” I’ve heard people say things like, “I’ll take snow over forest fires and flooding.” In fact, these comments are more commonplace than ever before due to climate changing conditions. It looks like we’re getting less snow (we can’t even freeze our outdoor rinks), while Mother Nature wreaks havoc in cities all over the world.
The Atlantic Cities has just published a list of the top safest cities when it comes to avoiding natural disasters, and Buffalo made the list as #4. When it comes to earthquakes, we might get an occasional tremor. And when it comes to hurricanes, we do get faced with some gale force winds. But in general Buffalo is not a place where you wonder if your house is still going to be under water, or even around, in the near future. To see the full article in The Atlantic Cities, click here.
