Over the past few years, New Era has been a bright spot for the local economy as they moved into new headquarters on Delaware Avenue and have grown their business and profile domestically and internationally.
Last week, New Era received some more press coverage from Portfolio magazine, a publication of Conde Nast. The article highlights how New Era has doubled revenues from 2002 to 2005 and now generates total sales of $350 million.
New Era has enjoyed substantial growth abroad and expects to generate revenue of $45M from Europe in 2008. And the international movement continues as the company announced a deal with the Korean Baseball Organzation as teams in the South Korean baseball league will begin wearing the signature New Era 5950 fitted caps.
Chris Koch, CEO of New Era, runs the privately held company. Later this month, he’ll be honored by the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation as the Man of the Year. With a growing company that employs over 1700 people and has helped add to the revitalization of downtown Buffalo, it seems to be a fitting honor.
