Ellicott Development is renovating the former CTG Inc. office building at 700 Delaware Avenue. According to social media, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation will be moving its regional offices into the building. The State agency will be relocating from 270 Michigan Avenue, an Ellicott Development-owned property at the eastern edge of downtown.
Ellicott Development’s 4682 Group Inc. paid $1.8 million for the 44,680 sq.ft., three-story building along with a parking lot across the street at 685 Delaware in 2018. A building permit to begin gutting the circa-1957 building was issued in June. On Thursday, Ellicott’s plan to add a new ADA-compliant front entrance along Delaware Avenue was tabled by the Preservation Board.
