Road Less Traveled Productions (RLTP) is planning façade improvements at its new home at 456 Main Street. RLTP and property owner Ellicott Development Company are seeking Zoning Board approval for signage that exceeds the maximum 175 sq.ft. allowed under City Code. The marquee sign on the building is currently blocked by the light rail station and RLTP wants better visibility for the site.
From their application to the Zoning Board of Appeals:
The 400 block of Main Street currently is visually dull and struggles attracting new business and pedestrian traffic. The signage will brighten up that area of Main Street, complementing the Hilton [Garden Inn] which is located across the street.
RLTP is moving from the former Forbes Theater in the Christian Center building that is being incorporated into the mixed-use 500 Pearl project by Ellicott Development. The new space at 456 Main will include a lobby and bar facing Main Street and the stage in the rear. It is scheduled to open on October 26.
