With the arrival of lululemon to Buffalo, a new run club has formed. The club was started two years ago, to get runners, and fans of the yoga-inspired athletic apparel company, together for weekly running sessions. This running club has steadily grown since its inception, and is now one of the most dedicated and reliable running groups in Buffalo.
“Our run club was created 2 years ago, with the intent to grow our running community,” said Ashley Swan. “We partnered with Kathleen Granchelli on this journey because she loves running as much as we do and shared the same vision! She had regularly voiced this goal and vision and we were happy to collaborate/support turning this vision into something everyone could love.
“We meet every Thursday at 6:30pm, beginning in the Spring until the Turkey Trot. A different location is picked each week in the Buffalo area to meet at. Kathleen and lululemon have really developed a great relationship with restaurant owners that host us. We start to meet at the restaurants around 6pm – Kathleen gives the directions of routes anywhere from 1-6 miles. Our advanced runners sometimes like to go a little further, but all routes will lead you back to the restaurant. You don’t need to love running to join, we have walkers too. Afterwards everyone likes to stay after to get some drinks and food. Socializing and running with friends is running made fun.
“Flying Bison is so graciously hosting our kick off party this season on March 3rd. This year we are starting earlier than ever, which is so exciting. We are a diverse group helping those who want to crush their half marathon, 5k, or any other personal goal they have with running!
Following is the lululemon Buffalo Run Club schedule leading up to the Buffalo Half Marathon. The summer schedule will be posted before May 25 – you can stay tuned to the lululemon Buffalo Run Club Facebook group page for further details.
