Starting in February, the Buffalo Museum of Science will be hosting one of the more unusual and sensational exhibits of our time. Contemporary artist Nathan Sawaya will be showcasing his outrageous exhibition titled The Art of The Brick, which was recognized by CNN as a Top 10 ‘Global Must See Exhibition’.
Sawaya has taken the beloved children’s building block – the everyday Lego – and has manipulated the bricks in a way that few can even imagine. The artist has taken the Lego pieces and created 3D sculptures that mimic famous masterpieces by the likes of Van Gogh (Starry Night) and Da Vinci (Mona Lisa).
One of Sawaya’s most touted and recognizable works – called ‘Yellow’ – will also be part of the exhibit (see lead image). This is a chance to see what all of the hype is about in other cities. The Art of The Brick is now coming to Buffalo!
THE ART OF THE BRICK, presented by M&T Bank, at the Buffalo Museum of Science will be on display from February 9 through May 4, 2019.
