It’s two steps back for Ohio Street. The First Ward thoroughfare has made strides in recent years transitioning from an industrial connector street to a mixed-use corridor with a focus on a pedestrian-friendly streetscape, new housing, breweries, river access and parks. The Seneca Nation has other ideas in the form of a second One Stop gas station at 5 Ohio Street across from Buffalo RiverFest Park and Resurgence Brewing Company.
The Seneca Nation purchased the 3.4-acre parcel at 5 Miami Street in 2022 for $326,000. Work has already started on the facility which will supplement and not replace the existing One Stop gas station at Perry and Michigan Avenue which is a circulation cluster F. That location opened in 2021.

According to The News, the Ohio Street gas station will have 26 fuel pumps, a 3,400 sq.ft. convenience store and a 2,500 sq. ft. Cannabis shop. Purchases at One Stops are tax free and since the land is sovereign tribal land, the project did not need to go through the City’s site plan or environmental review process. Work is expected to be complete by Summer 2027.
