The University at Buffalo Center for the Arts (UBCFA) is set to deliver an expansive and exciting Spring 2026 season. From incredible performers and nationally touring artists to beloved family experiences and on-campus talent, this season has something for everyone.
As Western New York’s largest multidisciplinary arts hub, the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts provides audiences with the opportunity to experience world-class art in a convenient and accessible location.
For Jamie Enser, executive director of the Center for the Arts, the breadth of offerings is what makes the venue such a unique asset to the region. “What makes the UBCFA unique is the opportunity to experience nationally and internationally acclaimed professional artists alongside student and faculty work, all in one place,” Enser says. “We’re able to offer diverse programming while staying connected to education and the community.”
The 2026 Spring Season is no exception. “This spring is about energy, discovery, and shared experiences,” said Enser. “Buffalo has such a wide range of arts and entertainment fans, and this season reflects that. From Diana Krall’s sophisticated, genre-spanning sound to Southern rock and blues with Duane Betts & Palmetto Motel, plus dance, family programming, comedy, speakers, and more, there’s something for everyone.”
The season launches on Saturday, February 7, at 7 p.m. with The Goonies 40th Anniversary Screening and Q&A. Fans of the adventure film will have the chance to revisit the classic alongside cast members Corey Feldman and Kerri Green, who will share behind-the-scenes stories from the making of the movie. Later in February, the spotlight turns to UB talent as the Department of Theatre and Dance’s Zodiaque Dance Company takes over the Mainstage for its 51st Season Spring Concert, running February 27 through March 1.
March brings a mix of family-friendly programming and crowd-pleasing entertainment. The Be Like Blippi Tour arrives on Thursday, March 5 at 6 p.m., offering an interactive adventure designed to spark curiosity in young audiences. Comedy takes center stage on Saturday, March 7, at 7 p.m. with the Gen X Comedy Take Over Tour, delivering humor rooted in resilience, authenticity, and life’s everyday absurdities. Families can also enjoy Dr. Seuss’s Cat in the Hat Live On Stage on Friday, March 20 at 7 p.m., a fresh theatrical adaptation of the beloved story.
Professional dance returns on Saturday, March 28, at 7:30 p.m. with Complexions Contemporary Ballet. Celebrating its 30th anniversary, the New York City–based company presents a genre-defying program that blends classical technique with bold athleticism and contemporary style, including the high-energy audience favorite Love Rocks, set to the music of Lenny Kravitz. “I’m most excited about Complexions Contemporary Ballet,” said Enser, adding, “They are a company we’re proud to bring to Western New York because their work is something audiences may not otherwise have the chance to see here. It’s athletic, boundary-breaking, and beyond traditional ballet.” Discounted $20 student tickets are available for K–12, college, and studio students with a valid ID.
On Tuesday, April 7, at 8 p.m., two-time Grammy Award winner Diana Krall brings her 2026 tour to Buffalo, showcasing the sophisticated artistry and musical versatility that have defined her career.
Indie fans can catch Waxahatchee and MJ Lenderman on Thursday, April 23 at 7:30 p.m., joined by upcoming artist Brennan Wedl for a night of indie rock and alternative country. The month wraps up with Duane Betts and Palmetto Motel on Saturday, April 2,5 at 7:30 p.m., joined by Wilson and Walsh. The son of legendary Allman Brothers Band guitarist Dickey Betts, Duane blends classic Southern rock traditions with blues-driven improvisation, raw emotion, and six-string virtuosity.
The season also features UB’s Distinguished Speakers Series, beginning Tuesday, February 10, at 7 p.m. with Kevin Olusola, Pentatonix beatboxer and creativity expert, as the keynote speaker for UB’s 50th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Commemoration. The series concludes Tuesday, March 10, at 7 p.m. with journalist, author, and CEO Hoda Kotb. Tickets for Kotb’s appearance are nearly sold out.
The spring season concludes with Spring Into Art on Tuesday, April 28, at 5 p.m. This free annual event transforms the Center into a hub of creativity, featuring performances, exhibitions, installations, and interactive activities by UB artists. Jamie Enser shared that the event is an ideal introduction to the Center’s programming. “Spring Into Art is one of our signature events,” she said. “It’s free, immersive, and shows the breadth of creativity happening at UB. It’s an easy and welcoming way to experience the UBCFA for the first time.” Open to all ages, the celebration offers an accessible entry point into the arts at UB.
