Get ready to rock and roll, because “Buffalo Rock City II” is back and better than ever! On October 31, 2023, this electrifying KISS tribute album will hit digital media and CD, making Halloween the ultimate night for KISS fans. And what’s even better, the proceeds from “BRC II” will go to support the Maria Love Fund, a 501(c)3 charitable organization providing immediate financial assistance to those in need.
For lifelong KISS fan and founder/guitarist of KISS THIS!, John Jeffrey, this project is a labor of love. He’s once again gathered an impressive lineup of artists, primarily representing the Western New York music scene. The album features both original “Buffalo Rock City” alumni and newcomers to the studio project, promising a blend of classic and fresh talent.
Returning to the “Buffalo Rock City II” album are iconic bands KISS THIS! and DoDriver. Notably, DoDriver was handpicked by KISS and their manager, Doc McGhee, to open for KISS on the Sonic Boom tour in 2010, a testament to their rock prowess.
But that’s not all; the album boasts an impressive lineup of international rock artists. The star-studded cast includes John Corabi, Jeff Scott Soto, John Gioeli, Jean Beauvoir, Tommy Henriksen, Tommy Denander, Howie Simon, Rafael Moreira, Deen Castronovo, Steve Blaze, Philip Shouse, Dave Comer, Mitch Weissman, and many more. These “celebrity guests” have graced stages and studios with some of the biggest names in rock history.
A notable highlight is the return of Mitch Weissman, who sang on the original “Buffalo Rock City” album. He’s back with his co-write with Gene Simmons, “What You See Is What You Get,” a song that was originally demoed for KISS’ 1987 album “Crazy Nights.” It’s a blast from the past brought back to life.
Jean Beauvoir, a significant figure in KISStory, also plays a vital role, recording a brand new version of “Who Wants To Be Lonely,” a song he originally contributed to KISS’ 1985 release, “Asylum.”
The album’s production is in capable hands, having been mixed by C.Wood and David Julian. Kevin Conrad, the comic artist known for his work on Todd McFarlane’s “KISS – Psycho Circus” comic book series, has created stunning cover art for “BRC II.” This new artwork pays homage to the iconic KISS “Love Gun” album cover and features Buffalo’s Albright Knox Art Gallery as the centerpiece.
Unlike its predecessor, “Buffalo Rock City II” is all about love-themed KISS songs, bringing a different dimension to the KISS experience.
Pre-orders for “Buffalo Rock City II” are available now on Bandcamp at buffalorockcity.bandcamp.com.
