Yes! Finally, 868 Main Street – a building with all sorts of potential – is on the market. For years I’ve watched this beauty sit idly by, awaiting an opportunity to shine as a fully-functioning mixed-use building once again.
Actually, this looks like a fabulous opportunity for someone to open a small business, while living dwelling in and/or leasing the two upper residential units. The living accommodations appear to be in decent/really good shape (see photos).
The first floor of 868 Main Street once housed a salon, but I have not seen any activity in that section for quite some time. I was surprised to see that the salon space is still nicely intact, which bodes well for a salon operator who wants to take a swing at a purchase.
The listing price of $435K seems to be very reasonable, considering the general state of the circa 1900 structure. There are even a couple of garage spaces, not to mention a quaint upper-back porch, and plenty of room for container gardens.
The wood floors look like they are in pristine shape. There are plenty of windows to let in the sunlight. Even the original wood staircase is intact. All-in-all, 868 Main is a solid deal for the right buyer, as long as the structure is sound.
Near to this building is Coco Bar & Bistro, which is a phenomenal spot. Just Vino is also close by and is considered another huge neighborhood asset. The neighborhood is home to the Medical Campus and is considered a part of Allentown.
Opportunity knocks, so strike while the iron is hot.
