The season’s first Buffalo Reading Invasion gets underway on Monday, June 5, from 7pm to 8pm. This is the 11th season that this event is taking place. The event itself, aims to get more people reading books, and other forms of literature.
The way that the Reading Invasions work is that people come together at predetermined sites around the city, to collectively read. Per usual, the initial gathering will take place at Bidwell Parkway at Elmwood.
Not only does this event promote reading, it also encourages people to relax outdoors, in bucolic, family-friendly settings. The pop-ups are one-hour long, but people can stay as long as they want.
Bring a blanket or something to sit on, a picnic basket, and some favorite reading materials.
Looking for something new to read? Just walk on over to Talking Leaves Bookstore on Elmwood and pick up a new book, and then head on over to the Invasion.
Reading Invasions are free to attend, so invite a couple of friends. Also, be sure to tune into Facebook and www.buffaloreadinginvasion.com to keep track of additional public reading events throughout the summer.
