Parkitects, a Buffalo-based playground design and build company which serves Upstate New York and the surrounding regions, has decided to bring its team together at HANSA Workspace, the coworking and flexible office center at 505 Ellicott Street. Established in 1996, Parkitects employs approximately 10 employees in the Buffalo area.
The move reflects a post-pandemic trend in local companies rightsizing their workspace needs at HANSA. Last fall, Synacor – a Buffalo-based cloud software and services company – relocated its office and 41 employees to HANSA from traditional space in Waterfront Village. Parkitects previously utilized a work-from-home arrangement, but found its team benefitted from the enhanced innovation and collaboration of flexible office space.
“The playgrounds Parkitects create gives kids a chance to connect with each other, and that’s what moving to HANSA has allowed us to do with our team and other local businesses that share this space,” highlighted Ben Frasier, president of Parkitects. “I’ve been working remotely for the past 23 years, so it’s a breath of fresh air to be in a place that stimulates innovation, sharing ideas and team collaboration. HANSA has a really nice energetic buzz to it. You can feel the liveliness of the others in the workspace and that connection with other businesses in Buffalo is a real key part of being here at HANSA.”
Opened in the Summer of 2020, HANSA workspace provides move-in ready, flexible office solutions for businesses of all sizes. Workspaces range from coworking and single office space to large team suites for 21 people or more. Private Team Suites, like those occupied by Parkitects, each feature their own private spaces for offices, conference rooms and multiple workstations. Access to five on-site meeting rooms accommodating up to 42 people and event space for up to 200 people is also available to HANSA members and can be reserved by non-members if they need hourly or daily space.
HANSA members and guests also benefit from a broad array of amenities, including gourmet coffee, snacks, a micro market, frequent lunch-n-learn sessions, artist-in-residence displays and other elements which foster collaboration, productivity, and a sense of community. HANSA is the first coworking and shared office center in North America to become isUD Certified (innovative solution for Universal Design). The isUD designation is a standard for ensuring inclusivity and focuses on spaces that eliminate barriers while elevating users’ experience by improving performance, health and wellness, and social participation.
“Our range of office space, meeting rooms and services address a host of workspace choices. On one hand you have a company like Parkitects, who left a work-from-home situation for the team collaboration and innovation which HANSA provides,” said Carl Montante Jr., president and co-founder of HANSA. “Then you have a company like Synacor, who needed to right-size their business from traditional office space. Both of those companies – along with approximately 80 other businesses locally – have selected HANSA as the right fit for their business.”
