The former Cathode Ray – now “26” – will open its doors to the public on Friday April 21 at 8:00 PM. The owners of the new establishment are Amanda Gentzler, Michael Moch, Michael Schreiber, and Zack Berbary. Together, they will cater primarily to the queer bar scene, which is apropos considering that the former establishment was such a long-time (30 years) supporter of the LGBTQIA+ community. In its place, “26” will ensure that patrons have a safe and inclusive space, featuring local DJs and performers, along with karaoke, community events, themed dance parties, patio and parking lot festivals, and shows of all kinds.
When “26” officially opens, guests will find a happy, vibrant, and welcoming atmosphere. The expertly trained and informed bartenders will be serving up craft beer selections, elevated cocktails, mocktails, and everything in-between. There will be gender neutral restrooms, and a zero-tolerance policy for discrimination of any kind.
As members of the LGBTQIA+ community, the owners are “…thrilled to open ’26’ and provide a space where everyone feels comfortable being themselves. Our goal is to create a community where everyone is celebrated and accepted, and we can’t wait to welcome everyone into our new place.”
“26” is located at 26 Allen Street and is open daily from 1:00 PM – 3:00 AM.
