Anyone that has come to love Porchfest and the Summer Concert Series on Bidwell Parkway -orchestrated by the Elmwood Village Association (EVA) – is invited to support these initiatives by attending an all-ages inaugural music fundraiser, “Born in the EVA.”
This “first-ever music fundraiser” will take place on Friday, April 28, 2023, from 7pm – 11pm at the Lafayette Presbyterian Church at 875 Elmwood Avenue. Guests to the auspicious event will enjoy two live bands, an open beer and wine bar, complimentary food, and an auction featuring dinners, theater tickets and other items from iconic Western New York businesses.
“We are pleased to kick off our popular and long-running summer music events with this fundraiser to support production costs at the EVA’s new headquarters at the Lafayette Presbyterian Church in the heart of the Elmwood Village,” said James Cichocki, executive director. “The EVA is known for bringing music to the community every May with our legendary event, Porchfest, and throughout the summer with the Bidwell Summer Concert Series. This special event will help raise funds necessary to continue to provide both Porchfest and the Bidwell Summer Concert Series to the public free of charge.”
The night will feature:
- A “preview” of the summer events with bands Dozo My Lady and Off the Wall providing live music
- A night of games and entertainment with 50/50, Silent Auction, Ticket Auction, Wine Wall, and Beer Wall
- Memorable party photos with multiple photo booths throughout the event
“The EVA has auction items available thanks to generous donations from the Buffalo Bills, Five Points Framing, the brand-new AKG Art Gallery, Apricot Lane, Spotted Octopus Brewing Company, Mr. Goodbar, Oxford Pennant, Revolution Buffalo, Squeeze Juicery, the Outer Harbor Concerts, Irish Classical Theatre Company, and many other restaurants, artists, and cultural institutions, with more coming in every day!” said Therese Deutschlander, President of the EVA Board of Directors and owner of Thin Ice Gift Shop.
Since 1994, the EVA Board of Directors (volunteers from area businesses, and local residents) has been responsible for hosting numerous beloved events in the Elmwood Village (including the Elmwood Village Farmers Market), while coordinating ongoing beautification projects. Thousands upon thousands of people count on these initiatives. Now, there’s an opportunity to support two events that have become synonymous with The Elmwood Village – Porchfest and the Summer Concert Series on Bidwell Parkway.
Tickets are $60/person, and available here or in-person at the door.
