On Saturday, May 6, BFLO Worm Works will be hosting its inaugural Kindness & Compost Festival at Martin Luther King Jr. Park (next to the Museum of Science). A number of like-minded partners will be on hand at the celebration, which will feature the following activities:
– Home Composting and Urban Gardening Classes
– Build-a-Bin Workshop
– Children’s Story Circles
– Doggie Yoga
– Personal Wellness Services
– Behavioral and Mental Health Professional and Coaches
– Special Guest Speakers
– Buffalo’s local composters
– Residential food scrap collection registration
This will be a unique festival where local community partners are work together to raise public awareness on why we all should be composting our organic stream recycling and using compost. This year’s festival theme is “Building a culture of intentional acts of kindness for the environment, other people, and yourself.”
The event (10am-4pm) will also showcase local pop up shops and vendor shopping, delicious local foods, music, children’s yard games and story time, and senior appreciation circles, among other initiatives.
Event entry is free and open to the public.
$5 tickets for event activities and door prizes (military, first responders and kids up to 6 y/o are free)
