In Buffalo, this Holiday season has been unlike any other. The city was hit hard with a “once in a generation” storm. Some were hit with incredible challenges and others’ lives have been irrevocably changed. The possibilities of New Year’s Eve celebrations have shifted over the last week, with some people canceling their plans, and some holding onto reservations for sold out events. It has been difficult to know the exact tone of this weekend round up.
After a few difficult Holiday seasons for local bars and restaurants, and after hearing from customers, many have decided to continue with their celebrations. Historically, many businesses rely on the revenue generated during the Holiday Season to support their yearly operating costs. New Year’s Eve is one of their most important events, and canceling can cause irreparable damage to a venue.
Whether you are staying in, or heading out, consider supporting a local business and restaurants on what will hopefully be one of their busiest days of the year. Whatever your choice, Buffalo Rising supports you, and wishes you a very Happy New Year.
