The last time we posted on 101 Hertel Avenue, the NYS Historic Preservation Board was recommending that the building be nominated for State & National Registers of Historic Places. Currently, the building is “back on the market” – up for sale by the City of Buffalo, listed at $354,000.
Buffalo Public School #51, Buffalo (101 Hertel Avenue) – Built in two stages, the first in 1894-1895 and the second in 1927-28, PS 51 notably incorporates one of Buffalo’s only remaining intact 19th-century school buildings, most of which were demolished and replaced by modern schools during the 20th century.
According to the listing, the City is requesting a Letter of Intent that must provide information on what the proposed use will be, timeline on project completion, and Must be accompanied by Proof of Funds. All parties entering the building (zoned N-2R) must sign hold harmless agreement and N-95 mask required.
