It’s chili season! With the colder weather, comes scarves, blankets, fires, and hot soothing foods. Chili, of course, is a dish (or bowl) that everyone can sink their spoons into. And in the case of the Inaugural Slow Roll Chili Bowl, Slow Roll Buffalo has teamed up with Community Beer Works (CBW), to bring us a taste of winter that will surely delight.
On Sunday, November 27 (3pm-7pm), several of Buffalo’s coveted restaurants will be participating in the Chili Bowl, including Allen Burger Venture, Ballyhoo, Brothers, CBW, EM Tea Coffee Cup Café, Lexington Co-op, and Southern Junction. As you can see, these chili creations will not only be tantalizing, they will also be broadranging. The four chili categories are omnivore, vegetarian/vegan, freestyle, and CBW-infused.
Attendees to the Chili Bowl will get a chance to vote for the coveted Spoke and Spoon award. And along with tasting the chilis, guests will receive a pint of a CBW core four, raffles, trivia, and a ballot to vote. It’s all included in the $20 ticket price.
Trophies will be awarded for:
- The People’s Choice
- Best in Show as declared by tastemakers Andrew Galarneau of The Buffalo News, Christa Glennie of Buffalo Spree, Mark Goodwin of Buffalo Eats, Andrew Scott of 716 Black Restaurant Week, and Alex Wright of African Heritage Food Co-op.
Tickets can be purchased here. All proceeds will benefit Slow Roll Buffalo, to help keep the organization’s community-connecting bike rides free and inclusive.
