An intriguing (and breathtaking) world of fiber arts awaits artisans and crafters on Saturday, October 1, at the 17th Annual Western New York Fiber Arts Festival. This festival has become a favorite among the fiber arts community, not just for the wide assortments of weavers, fiber farmers (sheep, llamas, alpacas, goats, and rabbits), spinning wheels, wool batts, yarn, knit items, and backstrap looms, attendees have also come to appreciate the demonstrations, workshops, and interactive activities.
The non-profit event features everything from hand dyed braids to hand dyed alpaca yarn. If you’ve been thinking that you have to travel to other cities, or to other countries for that matter, to find the most luxurious and aesthetically pleasing hand crafted fiber treasures, look no further than this festival.
2022 vendors include D n D Fibers, KeepEmGoing Farm, Whispering Pines Farm, Woodside Farm Alpacas, and The Woolroom at Longmeadow Farm. Click here to view the workshops.
The festival is in place “to promote and preserve fiber arts education here in Western New York. Its focus is on heritage crafts and their close relationship with fiber producers who raise sheep, llamas, alpacas, goats, and rabbits.”
