Looking to get your beer game on this spring? Maybe you’re a beer lover, but you never really took the time to think about everything that goes into the beers that you love. There’s a lot more that goes into beer than simply enjoying a couple of pints here and there. And that’s why Magic Bear Beer Cellar is now offering a variety of beer classes, led by owner & Certified Cicerone®, Craig Altobello.
This is the first time that Magic Bear has opened its doors to these types of classes, due to the pandemic. But now that things are somewhat back to normal, the classes are resuming (as they were originally intended). The classes include:
- Part of the history or process of beer
- ‘Tastings’ which explore a selection of beers with a common theme
- ‘Pairings’ which focus on complementing food with beer
“We are focused on the elevation and education of beer,” said Altobello. “Since opening our doors just a few months ago I have had the pleasure of being a part of daily conversations about beer. Whether answering a quick question, hosting a virtual or private class, or diving into a deep conversation over a few tasty drafts, we have been talking and enjoying quality beer since day one. I am stoked to start hosting in-person classes here at Magic Bear. The small and communal aspect allows for in-depth conversations about beer and is perfect for fellow beer enthusiasts or those who are just starting their journey into the world of beer to network and enjoy beer in an educational setting.”
The first class is “Cheers to American Beers” being offered on 4/22 and 4/29. This class will explore a variety of American styles and the evolution of craft beer in America. Each class comes with a personal meat & cheese board, minimum of four samples of beer, guided tasting, and will last approximately 1 hour.
A list of classes can be found at www.magicbearbeer.com/classes-events.
The events will be hosted in Magic Bear Beer Cellar’s on-site classroom at 799 Seneca Street.
The classes are limited to 12 participants.
