Buffalo Rising has been the leading source for hyper-local news for more than 20 years. Our diverse team delivers a wide range of relevant content to our readers as it unfolds in real time. Over the past four years, we have experienced exponential growth thanks to our large network of highly engaged readers and a small group of dedicated contributors who create innovative content to help drive the rebirth of this historic American City.
Our team works daily to deliver the best of Buffalo and beyond in convenient and compelling ways. We have learned so much by incorporating new media formats with cutting-edge motion graphics and fully integrated video. Buffalo Rising looks to redefine what local media can be with deeper community collaborations, feature profiles, and platform-first content.
Today, we are proud to announce that we have expanded our studio to include more dynamic formats, along with a completely new website, refreshed home page, and greater social integration. Plus, every article will have useful new features including, autoload of the next article, expanded photo galleries, embedded video and audio, along with easier ways to connect with our authors and other readers to continue the community conversation.
Some important updates to our website, include:
· Easier navigation with expanded category tags, a mega-menu, and feature callouts to help you find the information you need that matters most to our community.
· On our newly designed homepage, check out the three featured articles pinned to the top of the page. This section will include music and event roundups, important and breaking development stories, and feature profiles of local businesses.
· Located at the bottom of the home page, you can see our top “most read” articles from the past 30 days.
· We have also integrated mobile friendly advertising spots designed to help readers connect to organizations and businesses that are relevant and hyper-local. #shoplocal
· Local Matters Studio, Buffalo Rising’s parent company, will be launching a series of exciting podcasts aimed at broadcasting deeper, more meaningful conversations around the arts, community, WNY’s economy, new and emerging industries, and diving deeper into the issues that face our community.
· WNY loves events and festivals! Check out the expanded events section to read about community fundraisers, upcoming theatre and music productions and reviews, gallery openings, expanded business offerings and more! Navigate to the events tab from the mega menu or check out the latest posts in our homepage call out.
· Introducing, Local Matters Events: since 2012 Buffalo Rising has proudly hosted the annual Witches Ball. Recently, we announced a new annual spring event, The Enchanted Dream, and will be announcing other events soon, including series events for: WNY SOUNDSTAGE, BITTERS, and Project Best life.
