Pressure Drop Brewery’s satellite tasting room is now officially open on Elmwood, in the former Papa Jake’s (Nye Park Tavern) location. Not only are they serving up all of their popular beers (brewed in the Old First Ward), they are also putting out some really great food, including tacos, giant soft pretzels, sliders, loaded fries, and various sharable plates. Not to mention serving up a full brunch on weekends. As for drinks, they are concentrating on Pressure Drop beers on tap, along with NYS liquor, wine, and cider.
“We are beyond excited for this!” says CEO and Head Brewer, Karl Kolbe (see back story).
“This has been a long time coming, and we can’t believe it’s finally here.” says COO and Operations Manager, Lexi Craine.
Aside from eating a surprisingly good taco, and one of the biggest soft pretzels that I’ve ever seen, my friend and I were impressed with the eye-catching Space Monkey wall art.
During a recent visit, we bumped into Karl and Lexi, who were amped up about the upcoming Pink Boots Society Beer Release, taking place Saturday, March 26 (starting at 12pm).
“Pink Boots is very powerful in the beer industry,” said Karl. “It’s an impactful movement – the organization sets out to change the way things happen in the brewing industry, by empowering women brewers. There’s no sugarcoating this issue – Pink Boots is here to help women who are struggling to obtain gender equality. This is not your typical Buffalo bar – we’re pro-women, and here to help make a difference.
The difference is real. Real exciting, that is – especially for craft brew lovers who are on the hunt for “IPAs, a selection of fruits and sours, along with an all–New York state product lager, and some other core seasonal beers.”
Pressure Drop Brewing is open at 1672 Elmwood Avenue. The new location is in addition to the brewing facility in the Old First Ward. Keep your eyes peeled for future brewing collaborations.
Wednesdays and Thursdays 3p-10p, Fridays 2p-10p, Saturdays 11a-11p, and Sundays 11a-7p (weekend brunches)
